He's smiling.
How can he always smile like that?
I know why he smiles.
He wants to reassure everyone. He wants to let them know that nothing will harm them while he's there.
Sonic the Hedgehog. Hero of the world.
How many times has he saved them? With little to no thanks each time?
But he always smiles.
He's been hurt so often, he's seen things no one should ever see, and some things, I think, that no one else besides him has seen. He rips through time and space, runs and jumps with complete disregard for physics, and often throws himself in harms way to save enemies, let alone friends.
But he always smiles.
Sonic.
How do you always smile?
Even when you're hurt so much?
The others might not see it, but I can.
You might not want to let them down. I know what you're like, you have to be the hero, no matter what.
But Sonic...
I know better...
You're my big brother...
Sonic.
I may not know how you can always smile. But I know you do, because it's who you are.
I just want you to know...
You can cry if you want to, like you used to let me cry on you...

Just wondered if Tails is the only one who's ever seen Sonic cry, or if Sonic smiles for him all the time too.
Pfft Tails isn't stupid Sonic, I'm sure he worries about you!
So yeah, cute little thing I think Tails might say to a sleeping Sonic while he tucked him in, if the hedgehog ever fell asleep before him after a big fight.
I dunno. Haven't updated my other fics yet, probably won't until after Summer of Sonic now, so figured you could have this in the mean time XD;
