Doomsday Zone...

Sonic and Eggman floated amongst the stars, the scene reminiscent of one from long ago; Sonic, empowered by the mystical Chaos Emeralds, faced down his nemesis, Doctor Eggman, who sat in a large mech. Both smirked to themselves at the familiar confrontation, waiting a moment, before they turned spaceward and flew towards the much larger, organic looking ships beyond them. The initial confrontation was nostalgic, but they had other things to focus on first; like the impending invasion. The alien crafts were circling the planet, and while Sonic's friends and allies took care of the scouting parties that had been sent down to the surface, Sonic had been called by Eggman to help him ward off the rest. G.U.N.'s small but powerful armada were still preparing for take off, so their task was to distract and, if possible, lure them away.

Sound vanished completely as they left the atmosphere, Sonic instinctively giving his ears a few twitches as a result; normally he stuck to upper atmosphere in his Super form, but the space ships were further out than he'd expected. Eggman's mech gave him a quick hand gesture to check his status, and Sonic returned with an OK, before signalling for them to split up. A burst of light cascaded from his spines as he shot through the darkness, heading around the planet in the opposite direction to Eggman. Small, scattered bursts of light exploded around him, his movement too fast for them to catch. Turning his attention to the nearest ship, he flew towards it, arms pinned to his side as he circled it swiftly. The vortex manoeuvre crushed the front of the vessel, and its shots ceased. With a grin and a silent laugh to himself, he turned his attention to disabling the weapons of as many ships as possible on his way back to Eggman on the other side of the planet. As they caught up with one another, Sonic pointed to the disabled vessels, and Eggman's mech did the same; there had been far too many for him to destroy with his limited supply of missiles so he'd opted to disable instead.

They took a brief moment to asses the situation, but as they began to head back for another go round, a pulse of light shot between several nearby crafts. Pausing to glare in their direction, they saw another sequence of light pulses, before a bright one blinded them temporarily. Sonic covered his eyes, rubbing at them frantically to get them to clear as fast as possible. the flashing in his vision subsided, but before he was able to retaliate, sparks flickered between his quills and he found himself concentrating more on holding his super form instead; if he turned back this far out it was game over. Looking towards Eggman through the haze in his vision, he could see the mech had stopped moving. Clearly the last of the pulses had disabled it, and disrupted the flow from the Chaos Emeralds too. Sonic signalled a retreat towards Eggman, but the scientist was unable to respond.

Sonic drifted towards the robot, holding onto it so that he could put more energy into his super form. Blue light shifted along his golden quills, showing the loss of power visually. Within his mech, Eggman kept one eye on the hedgehog as he kicked and pounded at the controls, trying to get the emergency systems to start as fast as possible so that he could pull the kid inside. Sonic's attention suddenly moved away from his mech and to the ships around them, his ears flattening to his head, and prompting Eggman to dive for the viewports to see what he was looking at.

Large, bright lights shone on the underside of every ship they had thought they'd disabled. Eggman swore under his breath and redoubled his efforts to get the mech moving. Just as the power returned, Sonic pushed away from the robot and made to move, reaching desperately towards the planet below.

And the lights rocketed from the underside of the crafts at the same time.

Eggman grabbed Sonic with one of the mech's hands, pulling the weakened hedgehog back as the beams tore through space debris and the atmosphere.

I did about three doodles then this idea came to mind and i had to do it XD I'm mean.

Don't worry Sonic, just get that tricky time travel thing sorted and everything'll be fine...
